EVENT DETAILS
Saturday 26th September 2026 is Preston Pride – Our one day we come together for the LGBTQ+ community. As we have mentioned previously our area is limited this year due to road works but we are making the stay still as significant as we can. In this post you can find a variety of details for you to consider
- PRIDE IS FOR EVERYONE – Preston Pride is free for all to attend we are not ticketed.
- PRIDE PARADE – We will be having a Parade starting 10:30am outside Fishergate Shopping Centre (outside Starbucks). We will provide a map and we hope to see many of you standing on the side lines and cheering! For any business/organisation wishing to join the proceedings please email: info@prestonpride.com (Deadline to enquire is 11/09/2026)
- FLAG MARKET & STAGE – Our overall proceedings will be happening on the Flag Market (4 Cheapside, Preston PR1 2AP – in front of the Harris Museum) starting 11am. We have announced our full line up & poster in our previous post – https://www.prestonpride.com/news/preston-pride-2026-update-2/
- FLASH WARNING – At the back of the stage, there will be a digital screen, various short videos and graphics will be appearing on that screen throughout the day, at this point we’re unsure whether any of these images will be flashing, if this would cause you a problem it may better to assume they will be.
- ACCESSIBILITY – ‘We are committed to making Preston Pride a space where every individual, can celebrate safely and authentically. With that in mind, for Preston Pride 2026, a BSL interpreter will be on stage for all speeches and most performances where possible. The Parade route and Flag Market are level access but please note there are uneven surfaces and roadworks going on that are out of our control, so the Pride stall space is smaller than usual and there is a temporary road in front of the Cenotaph – please take care. Our friends at Disability Equality will be first in the parade to set the pace – they welcome disabled people attending Pride to join them. Accessibility at Preston Pride is an ongoing journey, we understand people’s access needs are often very individual and we are committed to continual improvement, with your help.
- SAFE SPACE – If things get a little too much or require a break – The Harris Museum is our Pride safe space – please do go in and ask for a quiet room, or sensory pack, should you need one. Also, the Argento Lounge a short walk away has seating, a menu of refreshments and toilet facilities.
- TOILETS – The nearest accessible toilet and Changing Places facility is also at the Harris – just ask any Harris staff member, stall holder or security staff for further information. (There are also various public toilets available in the area).
- STALLS – Again due to the road works we have had to limit our stall numbers this year but a full list will be provided.
- AFTER PARTIES – We are a family friendly and dry pride for the proceedings during the day on the flag market but for those who wish to continue the party and enjoy a drink (18+) we have a range of sponsor venues and will provide a separate post detailing what they have to offer.
